Questions worth asking before you start.

Record-keeping, not advice
01What is SchoolFolder?

SchoolFolder is a private, parent-owned system for organising school notes, concerns, incidents, conversations, meetings, files and follow-ups in one chronology.

02Is it connected to my school?

No. It is not a school portal. Your school does not automatically see or control your private folder.

03Can I use it to publicly accuse someone?

No. Do not use SchoolFolder to publicly accuse, shame, threaten, harass or identify other children. The service has no public record-sharing feature in version one.

04Should I use full names?

For privacy, you may use a nickname or initials for your own child. Where possible, use initials or descriptions instead of full names for other children.

05Does it provide legal, medical or psychological advice?

No. SchoolFolder helps organise records only. It does not provide legal, medical, psychological, child-safety or crisis advice.

06What should I do if a child is in immediate danger?

Contact emergency services or the appropriate authority. SchoolFolder is not monitored as an emergency, crisis or reporting service.

07What can I upload?

Supported private uploads include common image formats, PDF, plain text, Word documents and exported email. Files are validated for extension, MIME type and size before storage.

08Who can download my documents?

Only an authenticated owner can use the protected preview or download route. Private files are stored outside the public web directory.

09What goes into a report?

You choose the date range and sections: profile, folder summary, notes, incidents, communications, meetings, unresolved actions and document index. Private notes are off by default.

10Can I export or delete everything?

Yes. Account settings include a structured account-data export and permanent account deletion. Destructive actions require confirmation.

11What happens when a follow-up is overdue?

It appears clearly as overdue in your workspace and timeline, using calm language and a strong date hierarchy rather than alarmist warnings.

12Do paid plans work now?

The plan and feature-limit system is ready, but paid checkout is disabled until Stripe keys are configured. You can still use the Free plan.
